Sheredes is a secondary school for 11 to 18 year olds in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. It is situated on an extensive site in a residential area of Hoddesdon, surrounded by mature woodland. The school has wide ranging facilities including two halls, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, multiple ICT suites and a specialist music room. Outside, there is a large playing field and the school has it's own woodland area and pond, although recently a large proportion of this area has been fenced off.

Recently the school has qualified for a specialization in Performing Arts but it's been breeding many a great musician for over 20 years.

The school is also renowned for achieving high levels of success in athletics and sport, and many athletes have successfully gone onto to join youth teams representing the United Kingdom in various sports.

Micheal Smith is the Head teacher and Edward Rowland is the Chair of Governors.

Elections for next years head students began as of the 30th March 2007, when students interested in fulfilling the roles submitted their names for the vote.

Paul Butterworth, one of the school's longest serving teachers was brutally killed after being attacked by an aquantance of his sons with garden shearson the 7 March 2006. The police have charged Lawrence Draper, 30, with the crime and sentenced him to a controversially low 10 years. There are plans for past students to hold a memorial service and build a permanent memorial on the school grounds. The memorial at current stands as two ornate carved wooden owls outside the front office, and can be seen from the entrance.

The current uniform, consisting of a polo neck t-shirt (blue for years 7-9 and white for years 10 and 11), a royal blue jumper with the Sheredes 'S' emblazoned on it in yellow and black trousers/plaid skirt accordingly, which has been the uniform for well over a decade, is set to change dramatically in the new academic year beginning September 2007 for the entire school.

Recently the school has introduced a brand new initiative to encourage higher academic success and better links to the local community around the school. The slogan of this drive is:'Respect, commitment, success.'
