Shenphen Zangpo

Shenphen Zangpo is a monk and writer of Buddhist books. He is also known by the name Stephen Powell. He is famous for writing the book Releasing Life-An Ancient Buddhist Practice in the Modern World. The book touches such deep topics such as Karma, Compassion, life, and releasing life. It features many references to reincarnation and the cycle of life

His first releasing life ceremony was in Taiwan. He and some friends went to a local fish market and purchased some locally caught fish. They loaded them in a boat and set off for the open sea. Upon arriving they let the fish free. and dedicated the merit to all sentient beings. This is the Buddhist practice of releasing life and the main subject of this book. The short book is a result of his studies.
