Sheila Kaul is a leader of Indian National Congress and a former minister in Congress ministries at the centre .

She is relative of Indira Gandhi and had won Lok Sabha election from Rae Bareli, a constituency election whereof has been traditionally contested by a Nehru-Gandhi Family member.

In 2003 the CBI chargesheeted Sheila Kaul, and her two personal staff members in a housing scam case of 1996. The chargesheet accused the former Union Urban Development Minister of entering into a conspiracy with her two personal staff members for allegedly allotting government accommodation for a consideration.
