Sheikh Adelabu

Sheikh Abdulfattah Abu-Abdullah Taiwo Adelabu (Ph. D. Damas) is a West African Muslim academic, writer, journalist, publisher and cleric born in Oshogbo, capital city of Osun State, Nigeria. Sheikh Dr. Abdulfattah Adelabu - a Nigerian scholar and professor of Islamic and Arabic Studies who is a linguist, lecturer and jurist - is the founder and first president of AWQAF Africa (The African Muslim International Organization) and AWQAF African Muslim Open College in London where he also presides over The African Union Muslims (AUMuslims) and chairs The African Hajj And Umrah Commission (AHUC).
Sheikh Abu-Abdullah Adelabu studied Islamic studies and Arabic Literature in Damascus, Syria and achieved Postgraduate Diploma, Masters Degree, and Ph. D. He was a researcher in Islamic Studies and Arabic both in Oxford and Cambridge, as well as in London in the late 1990's.
His academic works and publications include Arabic English Dictionary of Sheikh Adelabu, encyclopedic Dictionary of Quran and Sunnah, Islam in Africa - West African in Particular, and Missionary and Colonization in Africa. He also founded and published in the United Kingdom 1998 Delab International - an African-Asian Middle East Magazine and Journal covering Religion, Politics, Sociology, and Literature. As a fellow at the Arab Academy and Middle Eastern universities, published works of the African sheikh appear in several international Arabic and English journals.
Sheikh Adelabu founded the African Muslim portals esinislam.com and islamafrica.com both of which are administered and directed by Umm Abdullah Adelabu (his wife) as the director and editor-in-chief with management by volunteers from students and followers of Sheikh Adelabu, especially at AWQAF African and AWQAF Africa Open College London.
Da’wah activities of the African academic include serving as an Imam Khatib previously at Kuwaiti Cultural Attaché London, working as Islamic columnist previously for the Libyan Arabic Daily Newspaper AL-ARAB INTERNATIONAL London, and serving as Imam And Chief Missioner previously for Islamic Youth League of Nigeria, Abuja.
Sheikh Adelabu studied under scholars in Syria, Saudi Arabia And Jordan. Among his teachers and mentors are Abdul-Qadir Al-Arna`uut Damascus, Sheikh Dr. Shawqi Abu-Khalil Damascus, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Said Ramadhan Al-Bouti Damascus, Sheikh Nasir-ud-Din Al-AlBaani Jordan, Sheikh Dr. Abdul-Latif Salih Al-Farfur Damascus, Sheikh Abdul-Aziz Bin Baaz Saudi, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Salih Al-'Uthaymi Saudi, Sheikh Dr. Wahbah Az-Zuhaili Damascus, Sheikh Shu'ayb Al-Arna`uut Damascus, Sheikh Dr. Mustapha Al-Bouga Damsacus, and Sheikh Muhammad Said Al-Qasimi Damascus.
