Sheelagh Murphy was a character in the long running UK police drama series The Bill played by Bernie Nolan. She appeared as a regular character between episodes 089 (12 February 2003) and 363 (10 November 2005).

Sheelagh arrived at Sun Hill as a sergeant, but after being accused of racism and religious insensitivity following a high-profile court case in episode 222 (17 June 2004) (and following a number of other controversies) she chose to revert to the rank of PC rather than be transferred to another station.

She left Sun Hill for a job in the Child Protection Team in Croydon.
