She's Only 18 is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, originally released on the band's double album Stadium Arcadium on May 9, 2006.

The song has a raw sound and feeling to it and has some familiar sound first heard in songs such as "Freaky Styley,"[citation needed] although it is also stamped with their new sound, a mix of funky bass, rough but crisp guitar, crashing drums, and Anthony Kiedis's trademark vocals. Kiedis remarked that the guitar solo is probably his favorite in the album. Interestingly enough, one line in the song refers to P-Funk, a pioneering funk group of the sixties and seventies. George Clinton, one of the most recognizable faces from P-Funk, produced the aforementioned Freaky Styley. According to Anthony in the June 2006 issue of "Rolling Stone" magazine, "She's Only 18" has reference to his model girlfriend Heather "Nika" Christie. Anthony also mentioned this in a 2007 Blender interview.[1]

John Frusciante commented in a recent interview with UK guitar magazine Total Guitar that it was he who gave the song its heavier chorus, insisting that they drop the tempo for that part of the song to create a heavier overall effect.
