[edit] Ronald20
Regarding your remarks made on the Talk page for Ronald20: Although his editing style can be quite frustrating, you should not have expressed your feelings in the way that you did. I suggest that you review Wikipedia:Civility and Wikipedia:No personal attacks.
FYI: Ronald20 is a young editor who probably has some sort of learning difficulty, or maybe a behavioral problem such as OCD or Asperger's. Although editors with these conditions may cause problems on the Wikipedia, there are also other editors with the same conditions who are making valued contributions to the Wikipedia. Recently there have been a number of editors who are trying to improve the situation with Ronald20, and he does seem to doing better with his recent edits. If you still think that his editing is unacceptable, your next step would be to file a Request for comments on him. BlankVerse ∅ 04:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
If that's truly the case, then my apologies to him. I think I remember glancing over a comment that this particular person has a learning disability. However, I feel that if each page is already edited to conform to a certain standard of quality, then he should leave well enough alone. The way I and maybe others see it, Ronald is doing these edits just for the sake of doing them. I can certainly appreicate if someone comes behind me and makes proper corrections to my contributions, but when someone else comes around and basically ruins the hard work you've accomplished, then there is some just cause to be frustrated. I can understand that he, and along with other editors, have made valuable contributions, but that's not the point. My point is simply is that I don't appreicate anymore ruining the work I take my valuable time of doing, nothing against him personally.--ShawnHill 18:03, August 9, 2005 (UTC)
- The best way that I've found to deal with Ronald20's edits is to try to lead by example. For example, when I make a correction of one of his edits, I try not to just do a knee-jeck revert, but will also try to do some wikification, or add more info, or do some copy-editing. He does do good edits (besides the odd ones, like when he adds stub tags to large articles and removes them from small ones), and many of his good edits seem to be from following the examples of other editors.
- You also need to be careful not to confuse the edits by Ronald20 (including the two sets of IP ranges that he also edits from as an anon) with some of the other anons that are also doing problematic edits to radio station and TV station articles. There is, for example, someone editing from AOL that is adding large amounts of confusingly written background history, even though the current info on the station may only be a couple of lines. [edit] User page edit
- I apologize for editing your user page without leaving you a note explaining the edit. I was using AWB to automatically fix redirected wiki links. However, you may want to review Wikipedia:User page for the policy on this issue: "Pages in user space still do belong to the community", "Other users may edit pages in your user space", "It is considered polite to avoid substantially editing another's user page" (emphasis added). --taestell 19:15, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Fsn Houston.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Fsn Houston.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
