Is this you making these edit to your user page? It keeps being reverted because people think it's vandalism. You should log in and edit the page. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:32, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Yes it is Me making these changes, it's not vandalism. User: shane bellinger
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Snowman.gif
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Snowman.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Night Gyr 03:16, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images
Shane - Please understand that we can't use images on Wikipedia unless we know who made them and they are released under an appropriate license (or qualify for fair use). It looks like you have been uploading images you found floating around the Internet and licensed them as {{GFDL}}. This is not acceptable. Unless you created the image yourself or have specific permission from the author, the GFDL tag does not apply. I am going through your image contributions and tagging the ones that were downloaded from 'some website' for deletion in 7 days. If you have any questions about this, please contact me. Thanks! -SCEhardT 02:28, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello
Hi Shane, welcome to Wikipedia. It's great that you want to contribute, please ask me if you need help with anything, or advice.
You've uploaded a fair number of images which aren't linked to any Wikipedia article, and someone has raised the suspicion that you're using Wikipedia as a host for images which are used on other sites. This really isn't allowed, and I'm going to delete these, because they are not suitable for use in an encyclopaedia:
- Image:Mel's Red Flowers.jpg
- Image:Mel Blue Flowers.jpg
- Image:Spring Flowers 8.jpg
- Image:Orange Tulip.jpg
- Image:Sha sig.jpg
- Image:Val Heart.jpg
I think you should also think about whether you really need these images, which are only on your own userpage (some, like those above, are not used anywhere), and some of which are up for deletion already:
- Image:Canadaflag.gif
- Image:Twinklestar.gif
- Image:Flash Bar.gif
- Image:Pageconstruct.gif
- Image:Soccer.gif
- Image:Welcome3.gif
- Image:Mail Messge.gif
- Image:Floppy.gif
- Image:Luksnowflak.gif
Wikipedia isn't really about your userpage, and it definitely isn't a homepage hosting site (see this for an explanation). Please look around, make changes to things you see that are wrong, and add information that you think is missing. As I said, if there's anything else you want to know, please get in touch. --ajn (talk) 10:07, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.
