[edit] Thanks for the pointer to UK:Railways

Hey, many thanks for the pointer to the UK:Railways wiki. I didn't know about it. I'm going to start editing there too. Best, Gwernol 15:30, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Downy wood violet

Hi - blanked redirect was on purpose - I screwed up - should have createds a redir from Downy YELLOW violet, but was asleep at the keyboard - correct redir I have now done. Not an admin so I can't delete the page.Bridesmill 21:46, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Test of an inteligent language

Interesting thought. Yes, I've read a fair amount about Turing and computation theory, don't understand all of it though. Anyway, I shall discuss this further sometime next week – Gurch 12:21, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Catastrophe (drama)

Am I seeing this correctly? We never had an article on catastrophe until today?? The closest I've found is denouement... — 0918BRIAN • 2006-05-31 16:38

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. - CobaltBlueTony 20:34, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Oh but you did! You placed {{db-attack}} instead of {{subst:db-attack}}. - CobaltBlueTony 20:40, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
So, then, we need a similar tag for article pages... - CobaltBlueTony 20:43, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I'll create a template, and I'll try to put some more information. --Emily007 12:49, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] International Space Agency

You visited our new listing international Space Agency (ISA).

All information is correct.

We are open to any feed back, however, please be aware that at present there is an all out effort by powerful government agencies, and agents, who have spread massive amounts false information and propaganda to unsuspecting people, to cause harm to the ISA organization and its people.

We are legitimate.

Also, be aware that if you do a search on the internet for "International Space Agency" you will find years and years and layers and layers of false information, propaganda, and manufactured lies about the International Space Agency (ISA) Organization, and our Founder, Mr. Rick R. Dobson, Jr. People have even used Mr. Dobson’s name on the internet, pretending they are him, when in fact they were not, and this has caused major problems! Also, these same government agents have been sending out hundreds of emails, looking as if it has come from the International Space Agency (ISA) Organization, when in fact these emails did not come from the ISA Organization, and were intended to cause harm and to deceive people. These are ongoing problems, which the ISA Organization is constantly fighting against.

Just want to set the record straight before any false information or propaganda is taken as fact, and cause problems to unsuspecting people.

Thanks. ISA Global Team. (402) 299-2799 public-affairs@isa-hq.com=

[edit] About contributing to Wikispecies

No. I dont think I have the requisite credentials to contribute there. I also dont want to over-extend myself. Butterflies of India is a personal mission and I extend this to other wildlife of India and remaining Lepidoptera of the world. I occassionally dabble in articles outside this, but very rarely. Thanks for noting my contributions. Regards, AshLin 09:33, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Godfrey Quigley

Hi, I don't know much about GQ other than he's one of those 'mainstay' character actors from the 70s and 80s. Just thought he deserved a stub at least. Thanks for tidying up the page a bit :-) regards Martyn Smith 22:30, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of Donegal People

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from List of Donegal People, which you proposed for deletion. I am leaving this message here to notify you about it. First of all, the article was previously de-prodded, and PROD tags should not be replaced after being removed. Second, I think this deletion might be controversial; see Talk:List of Donegal People for my rationale. If you still feel the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to it. Instead, feel free to list the article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Mangojuicetalk 15:09, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I've seen that kind of thing happen a couple of times. I even saw a bot re-prod an article that way once! I think this is a funny kind of situation: the blanking usually happens because the main author agrees with the deletion, but blanking is typically reverted, and it technically removes the PROD tag. I'm going to bring this up on Wikipedia talk:Proposed deletion, actually. Cheers! Mangojuicetalk 15:45, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Use of {{stub}} is no longer recommended

Hello,

Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.

Thanks! -- Where 18:57, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jubilee

Yes, the Jubilee Line did open in 1979. However the actual railway it now occupies was opened in 1879 which was on the Metropolitan Railway. It then went through a series of changes between companies and then lines on what is now the London Underground (most notably the Bakerloo Line) before finally becoming the Jubilee Line. THEREFORE the railway section opened in 1879. There is a big difference in naming the Jubilee Line opening dates and when that section of railway actually first opened. [edit] Emmett McAuliffe

You recently hid an image on this page because you were unsure of it's copyright status. I thought I should let you know that the user who originally placed the image has now removed your hide tags, I replaced them but he has since removed them again. Let me know if you need a hand with it. Abcdefghijklm 15:36, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Hidden the image again, he has not reverted since. Looks like we have solved that one now. Good job. Abcdefghijklm 16:27, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Red Link Recovery/Unlikely/brackets

Howdy, I notice the above list has been completed. I normally gather up any 'bad' entries on these lists to help improve their next incarnation. However, no entries on the list have been marked up as such. Can I ask you as one of the people who worked on thelist if you noticed anything on it that probably shouldn't have been please? [edit] WikiCast on Astronomy

Regarding the WikiCast "Noctune", I may be interested, but I would need to know the time commitment needed to produce such a thing and the technical aspects of setting up the broadcast.
