Shaneabbas Roshan Jessa has lived in the coastal city of Dar es salaam, Tanzania for most of his life. Being of Indian origin and following the unique religion of Islam, he encompasses African, South Asian and Middle Eastern qualities. He was provided with excellent education in Tanzania, at the International School of Tanganyika (IST). His experiences at IST included contact with students of different races, religions and ethnic backgrounds and he was always fascinated with this diverse student body. After completing 14 years in IST, He graduated with an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Shaneabbas entered Bellevue Community College located in Seattle, Washington in the fall of 2001 and got involved in many different college activities. After the atrocities of September 11th 2001 and having been elected vice president of the Muslim Student Association; Shaneabbas thought it was his duty to deflect some of the misconceptions people had about Muslims and Islam, and was pivotal in organizing various 'on' campus educational forums on Islam. In summer of 2003 Shaneabbas graduated from Bellevue community college with an associate in Arts and science, with a 3.86 cumulative grade point average. Shaneabbas is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in Business Administration at the University of Washington, in Washington State, USA, and has maintained a cumulative (As of Spring 2005) GPA of 3.70.
