[edit] Spelling

What's this "Shalamar" misspelling? It's always "Shalimar" in English. --Wetman 14:58, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)

What's with your hostile attitude? Take a chill pill. Shalamar is how the signs posted at the actual site refer to the gardens. When you enter the garden, a UNESCO World heritage sign reads Shalamar & not Shalimar gardens. Although, I don't understand what's the big fuss about it, anyway? Who the bloody hell cares if there's an i or an a in Shalamar?

[edit] Meaning of the Name

It would be nice if someone could add the meaning of the name without getting side-tracked into arguments!

[edit] 3 Shalimars?

A contributor to Kashmir is claiming there are 3 Shalimar Gardens. According to him, the Shalimar mentioned in the Kashmir article is not the Shalimar at Lahore.--AI 10:18, 30 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV, writing style

"In all these pictures below, not a single fountain can be seen running because the water supply lines to the garden were deliberately broken in 1999, merely to widen a road close to the garden."

I am changing this line partly because it is a POV and partly because it is non-encyclopaedic in its writing style. (some time later...) ... and I am going to tidy up the whole thing because the language is generally clunky. Polocrunch 14:24, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Aerial Photograph

It would be sweet if someone could upload a free aerial photograph of the garden to give some understanding of the scope of how big'n'beautiful this wonderful ancient site really is. Anyone?!
