[edit] Bold adjustments

I just made what may be considered to be some bold adjustments to this article. Please discuss the adjustments here. Thanks. --Takeel 03:32, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree with the removal of personality traits. I disagree, however, with the removal of the qualifier in front of Professor's Cole's name. Professor Cole is renowned in his field as well as in the larger topic of Middle Eastern Studies. He is the world's most widely known and probably most controversial living scholar of the Middle East with the exception of Bernard Lewis. The qualifier adds to Dr. Hanifi's notability by signifying Dr. Cole's. As for the brief description of the remittance project which you removed, I believe that should remain as well unless you has some reasoning as to why it should not.--Strothra 19:45, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Admittedly, I'm not familiar enough with Cole to determine if he could be described as "renowned". That edit was part of an attempt to bring the article closer to NPOV. Saying that someone is "renowned" or "famous" can be tricky territory because there is a certain level of subjectivity to it.
The description of the remittance project was removed because it was directly copied from an external website, and, as such, could be considered a copyright violation. Here is the website it came from: [1] I changed the name of the project into a wikilink in hopes that someone would create a new article for it. An article specifically about the project would probably be the best place for information on it. --Takeel 20:16, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Opinion regarding edit war

Regarding the edit war between Strothra and Never Cry Wolf, it seems to boil down to a conflict on formatting. The question is, do we place the link on the text itself, or next to it as a numbered citation?

Personally, I prefer Strothra's version of the text, with the links as numbered citations. It just looks a lot better that way, rather than with the link on the text itself.

And remember, children, play nicely. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:25, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks although I do ask you not to call us children (well myself, at least). Never Cry Wolf was edit warring over the article not because of his opinion on formatting but because he was disgruntled over a dispute regarding an image caption on a different article. He has since been banned for his actions of wikistalking and editwarring. He was simply reverting my recent edits and attempting to call my edits vandalism. --Strothra 21:17, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Regarding the "children" comment, I'll say that to anyone if they start bickering, regardless of age. Still, I'm just glad to see it settled... SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:00, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Please see WP:NPA. Remember to comment on content, not on the contributor. I refrained from warning you for the comment but feel that you should already be familiar with the policy. --Strothra 00:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
