Shaun Van Allen

Shaun van Allen (born August 29, 1967 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan) is a former hockey player who played on the Ottawa Senators before the 2004-05 NHL lockout and subsequently, lost his contract. He currently broadcasts live hockey games on the Team1200, the official Ottawa Senators Radio. Throughout his career, he also played for the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens.
He is also the Director of Player Evaluation for the Ottawa Senators, where he is responsible for evaluating all players within the organization, including professional and minor league players, prospects, draft choices, college and junior players.
Shaun van Allen was actually born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is a common misconception that almost all sites list his birthplace as Calgary.
