Shaun Smith (born August 19, 1981) is an American Football defensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns.

Played for 2 years as a defensive lineman for Butler Kansas Community College. Transferred to University Of South Carolina after 2 years at Butler Kansas, Smith played as a reserve Defensive end his Junior, and Senior Years. He record 38 tackles, a sack and fumble recovery his senior year.

Smith was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a College Free agent in 2003. Signed to the practice squad, and spent his entire rookie season there. In the 2004 season Smith was waived by Dallas, picked up by the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona cut Smith after their final preseason game. Smith was picked up The New Orleans Saints who placed Smith on the practice squad, later signed to New Orleans 53 man roster. Smith had 16 tackles for New Orleans and one start, Smith was waived by New Orleans on November 30, 2004. Smith was picked up by Cincinnati Bengals on December 1, 2004. Smith recorded 6 tackles for Cincinnati, and started one game. Smith started 5 games in 2005 for the Cincinnati Bengals. He recorded 17 tackles, in 2005. He was signed to a 4 year, $8.65 million offer sheet by the Cleveland Browns, which the Bengals declined to match.
