Shaun Michael Marcum (born December 14, 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri) is a top pitching prospect for the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays drafted Marcum in the third round, 80th overall of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft. Marcum has shot up through the minors since being drafted and made his MLB debut on September 6, 2005. He had a stellar year in 2005, despite a late season call-up. He is one of the centerpieces of the future for the Blue Jays with his solid physical tools in addition to outstanding composure and strength on the mound. Shaun Marcum went 3-4 for the Blue jays in 2006 in 21 games including 14 starts. In his final 7 starts, he pitched magnificently going 2-1 with a 3.31 ERA.
