Shashi is a city in China, which is located in the state of Hubei in central China. The nearest big cities are Jingmen, Shiyan and Wuhan. Shashi is one of the 200 major cities of China, with a population of around 500,000.

The city is known for her big ecological problems due to her metal and chemical industry and his harbour. The Yangtze river is most polluted in the area around Shashi Harbour.

Shashi was founded in the late 18th century, but was heavy destroyed in World War 2 and the following chinese crisis Mao Tsedung. Most buildings are built in late 50ties and 60ties but there also a few new buildings built in the times of economical boom in China in the 21th century.
