Sharsha is located at 23.0744° N 88.8667° E . It has 46084 units of house hold and total area 336.34 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Sharsha has a population of 258789. Males constitute are 51.4% of the population, and females 48.6%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 126532. Sharsha has an average literacy rate of 25.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[1]
