[edit] Career

[edit] Miss Black America (1991)

Sharmell won the Miss Black America pageant in 1991. The pageant that year was overshadowed by accusations of rape by another competitor, Desiree Washington, against Mike Tyson, who served as a pageant judge. After winning the title, Sullivan began a career in professional dance, touring with several hip hop artists and R&B bands, including a 3½ year stint with James Brown.

[edit] World Championship Wrestling (1999-2001)

Sullivan joined World Championship Wrestling's Nitro Girl dance troupe in 1999 under the name Storm. When the Nitro Girls began becoming more involved in WCW storylines she was made valet for The Artist, re dubbing herself Paisley (to match The Artists Prince Gimmick). While valeting for The Artist she frequently got into (kayfabe) catfights with Billy Kidman's valet Torrie Wilson and later with Chris Candido's girlfriend Tammy Lynn Sytch. Sullivan made her in-ring singles debut against Sytch on the April 26, 2000 edition of WCW Thunder, winning with a DDT.

Following The Artist's release from WCW, Sullivan began to manage Kwee Wee. She also formed an alliance with fellow former Nitro Girl Tygress, and the two ladies frequently double-teamed the Misfits In Action's valet Major Gunns.

While in WCW Sullivan was also a part of the pop music group Diversity 5 with other Nitro Girls Fyre, Spice, Chae, and Tygress. In 2001, when she signed with the WWF, she was replaced in the group by Chiquita Anderson (also a Nitro Girl).

[edit] World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

[edit] 2001

When WCW was bought by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 2001 Sullivan signed a developmental contract, with the intent of becoming a full-time in-ring performer and was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling for training. Her first job there during her training was to valet for The Suicide Blondes under a blonde wig and using the name Sister Sharmell. She also made some appearances on the main roster show, Friday Night SmackDown!, as a backstage interviewer using her full real name. Her training, however, was cut short by a knee injury, and she was released later in the year

[edit] 2005 - Present

Sullivan was re-hired by the (now renamed) World Wrestling Entertainment in 2005, debuting as a face valet for her real-life husband Booker T, but turning heel with him when he changed alignment. Sullivan, and Booker T - as faces - had a short feud with MNM (Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro, and Melina Perez) which resulted in Sullivan wrestling (and losing) her first match as a WWE Diva on the August 18, 2005 edition of SmackDown! (Mercury and Melina vs Booker T and Sharmell).

Early on, Sullivan cheated to secure victories for her face husband, seemingly without his knowledge, until Booker turned heel upon winning the United States Title - due to Sullivan's interference - from Chris Benoit on an October edition of SmackDown! when it was revealed that Booker knew she was helping all along.

Sullivan and Booker T then found themselves being stalked by the Boogeyman, and during a match at WrestleMania 22 he managed to kiss Sullivan while he had a (legit) mouth full of worms.

After Booker T's victory in the 2006 King of the Ring tournament, Booker T began referring to himself as "King Booker" and Sharmell as "Queen Sharmell". Their new gimmick has seen them acting pompous and attempting British accents.

On the April 6 of 2007 on Smackdown Sharmell had an outburst on King Booker for his loss against Matt Hardy. Backstage Booker T tried to apologize to her but she slapped him in the face.
