Shannon Meta Whirry is an American actress, born in Green Lake, Wisconsin, USA, on 7 November 1964.

Despite serious acting training at the American Academy for Dramatic Arts in the 1980s (she appeared in Mrs. Warren's Profession and Butterflies Are Free on Off-Broadway), Ms. Whirry worked mostly in erotic B-movies in the early 1990s along with other "queens" of that era Tanya Roberts, Delia Sheppard, Maria Ford, and Shannon Tweed. Director Gregory Hippolyte, in particular, was adept at bringing out the best of Ms. Whirry. His productions of Animal Instincts I and II, Body of Influence, and Mirror Images II featured Shannon's outstanding assets in various stages of undress in repeated scenes. Other notable roles included Private Obsession and Playback, a Playboy production.

As her roles in softcore movies declined in the late 1990s, she branched out into other genres such as action, sci-fi, horror. She had a recurring role as Velda on the television series Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer and had guest starring roles in such hit TV shows as ER, Felicity, V.I.P., Seinfeld, Murphy Brown, Malcolm in the Middle and Nash Bridges. She also played Vox Populi in the short-lived Roger Corman produced series Black Scorpion and a small role in the Jim Carrey film, Me, Myself and Irene. More recently (2007) she has also appeared in the BBC television series "Nuclear Secrets", playing the part of Kitty Oppenheimer, wife of nuclear physicist J.Robert Oppenheimer
