Shane Perry (born. November 9, 1977) is an Australian rugby league player who currently plays for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Rugby League (NRL). His position of choice is in the halves.

[edit] Career

Shane Perry was part of the Queensland Cup playing for the Logan Scorpions in 1998. Shane Perry started out his first-grade rugby league career with Western Suburbs Magpies in 1999, before moving on to Canterbury Bulldogs in 2000-01. He has played for the Queensland Cup team Redcliffe Dolphins, being their captain in recent time.

Perry was brought into the Brisbane Broncos camp/squad to provide cover during the State of Origin period where the Broncos are traditionally hit hardest with extra playing duties and/or injuries. But Perry became the No.1 Halfback, when team-mate Brett Seymour had his contract with the club terminated. Perry's ability to complement captain Darren Lockyer on-field relieves some pressure from the captain. Perry's form continued to improve and he was part of the 2006 winning Broncos grand final team.

Shane is one of the few NRL players that mix rugby-league career with a job.
