Shane Patrick Horgan (born 18 July 1978 in Bellewstown near Drogheda), County Meath is a rugby union player who plays wing or centre for Leinster and Ireland. He is 6'4", tall for a winger, and imposing for any opposing wingers.

Horgan joined the Lansdowne Club in Dublin on leaving school in 1997, making his debut for Leinster in 1998. To date has played for the province 52 times in the Heineken Cup scoring 18 tries and a drop goal for a combined total of 93 points. He is currently part of a very talented Leinster backline which includes the likes of Brian O'Driscoll, Gordon D'Arcy, Felipe Contepomi, Girvan Dempsey and Denis Hickie.

He made his debut for Ireland in 2000 against Scotland in the Six Nations Championship, scoring a try in the process. In the following game against Italy he scored 2 tries and added another one against Wales during the tournament. Since then he has been a regular starter for Ireland, either at wing or centre. He was selected for the 2005 British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. He was used as a substitute during all three tests and was never given the starting chance his form deserved. He failed to make any real impact during the 2005 November internationals. After scoring the winning try against England in Twickenham in the 2006 Six Nations Championship to secure the Triple Crown for the second time in three years, he became a new national hero. Shane is known by the Irish media and rugby fans as "Shaggy". As well as rugby, he enjoys surfing. Shane also played Gaelic football when he was younger & in the ninety's played on a number of underage Meath football teams.
