Shane (1966) was a television series based upon the 1949 western book by Jack Schaefer, Shane (there had also been a 1953 film of the novel, Shane).
The television series was directed by Herschel Daugherty and Gary Nelson. David Carradine starred as Shane and Bert Freed played the villainous Ryker. The series was filmed as a continuing story.
