Shanag ashile Turner, Hwang & Norell, 2007 |
Shanag is a genus of dromaeosaurid dinosaur from the early Cretaceous Period of Mongolia. Known from a partial skull, Shanag bears a strong resemblance to primitive Chinese dromaeosaurids such as Microraptor and Sinornithosaurus, suggesting a close similarity between the fauna of the Öösh deposits where Shanag was found, and the Jehol biota of China (such as the animals found in the Yixian Formation), during the Early Cretaceous.[1]
