"Shake a Tail Feather" is a song written by Verlie Rice, Otha Hayes and Andre Williams. It was originally recorded in 1963 by the Chicago-based group The Five Du-Tones, whose version reached #51 on the U.S. pop charts.[1]. A 1967 version by James & Bobby Purify reached #25 on the charts.[1]
"Shake a Tail Feather" has been covered by many other artists over the years, perhaps most notably by Ray Charles, who performed the song during his scenes in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers.
The song was also covered by The Cheetah Girls for the 2005 Walt Disney Pictures film Chicken Little. "Shake a Tail Feather" was the first single released from the Chicken Little soundtrack.
Other notable artists who have recorded the song include Ike and Tina Turner, Mitch Ryder, and Tommy James and the Shondells.

- The Cheetah Girls peformed this song at the Chicken Little premiere after-party in front of a large green screen, which was displayed as clouds on the big screen TVs at the party.
