Shadowkhan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Shadowkhan are fictional warriors from the animated series Jackie Chan Adventures. They serve as the expendable muscle on the show, serving first Shendu and later Daolon Wong. They are later revealed to have originated in Japan, under the command of the Oni. There are nine tribes of Shadowkhan, and each one is different from the others. They were trapped with Tarakudo and the other Oni inside Tarakudo's mask upon Season 4's conclusion.
Starting in Season 2, Uncle created a variety of spells which could discorporate the Ninja tribe Shadowkhan. These spells proved ineffective against the Razor tribe, and presumably wouldn't work against any other tribes without further research.
[edit] Shadowkhan Tribes
The Oni and their Shadowkhan Tribes are first revealed in Season 4 but the Ninja Shadowkhan Tribe is seen since Season 1. Each of the Shadowkhan Tribes come from a different Japanese Oni. The Shadowkhan are summoned using an Oni mask. Once the Oni mask is worn, the Oni trapped inside awakens. The Oni masks were all sealed when the mask of the Oni King was used to capture Tarakudo. Although each tribe is different all Shadowkhan have blue-grey skin (if shown), glowing red eyes (if a tribe has eyes) and wear black clothing. Some Shadowkhan can even pass through solid matter and enter dreams (if commanded). The Shadowkhan Tribes are as follows.
- Ninja Khan: Appear first and are the most frequently seen in the show. The "Ninjakhan" are fast and agile, know many ninja martial arts moves, and possess an arsenal of ninja weapons (throwing stars, katanas). Shendu harnessed the power of this mask without risking being possessed by its Oni by imprisoning the mask within a magical chest. Jade was able to steal control when a tattoo of Tarakudo from the Demon Archive was placed on her leg. While Shendu was banished off-realm, Daolon Wong was able to control them via a spell. The mask itself was worn by Chow of the Enforcers. Color: purplish red. Mask removal ingredient: Japanese steel.
- Razor Khan: One of the most powerful Shadowkhan, they have sharp metallic claws and razor pointed feet. They are also extremely fast and agile. The mask was worn by Ratso of the Enforcers. Color: purple Mask removal ingredient: Japanese silk.
- Bat Khan: They look much like Hsi Wu, the Demon Sorcerer of Sky (both having bat wings and a similar build). The mask was worn by Jade's dog, Scruffy. He Summoned them by howling. Color: yellow. Mask removal ingredient: Japanese rice.
- Sumo Khan: A Sumo version of the Shadowkhan. They look similar to the Ninjakhan, but are much bigger and bulkier. The mask was worn by Captain Black. He summoned them unexpectedly when needing backup on his walkie-talkie. Color: light green. Mask removal ingredient: Japanese seaweed.
- Samurai Khan: Like their name, they look like large Samurai and even have "Shadow" Samurai Swords. The Oni was brought to life in a powerless state via the power of the Rat Talisman, and revealed to be Tarakudo's second-in-command Ikazuki. Finn of the Enforcers accidentally sits on him before driving his car. The incident with Finn may have activated the Shadowkhan, but Ikazuki had total control. Color: medium blue. Mask removal ingredient: unknown.
- Squid Khan: They have squid-like tentacles as their arms and legs, their faces are very strange and "insulting". The mask was worn by El Toro's protégé Paco. Color: orange. Mask removal ingredient: Japanese octopus tentacle.
- Mini Khan: These Shadowkhan are very small and possess four legs (but no arms or eyes). Unlike the other Shadowkhan, this tribe can eat shadows, therefore putting the victim in a coma-like state and making the Shadowkhan larger and more powerful. The mask was worn by Hak Foo of the Enforcers. Color: lime green. Mask removal ingredient: fish.
- Crab Khan: They are tall and slender, have Crab like claws for hands but possess "regular" legs. Valmont and Jade persistently wore each broken half of the mask. When the mask was split apart, both wearers had control of a half of each individual Shadowkhan until reunited. Color: black. Mask removal ingredient: Japanese monkey tears.
- Mantis Khan: They have Mantis like arms and four mantis-like legs. The mask was recovered before it could have been worn. Color: red. Mask removal ingredient: a cell phone
