[edit] The Shadow Hunter (During WC3)

The Shadow Hunter is very important to the Horde. Their role during skirmishes between factions is greatly appreciated because of their ability to heal multiple units at once. They help the other units also by being able to polymorph opposing units in battle. They also added a defensive element to the war effort because they were able to cast Serpent Wards: magical, fire spitting wards that were unable to harm friendly units. Their Ultimate spell, Big Bad Vodoo, caused havoc in enemy ranks as the released spirits sapped strength from their masses. This greatly benefited the Horde's troops, allowing them to defeat their enemies faster.

[edit] Shadow Hunters In The World Of Warcraft

Shadow Hunters, although not a playable class, have been known to show up in WoW. As such, they are usually comprised of Orcs and Trolls, usually Shamans along with some Mages and some Warlocks. They consist entirely of independent, unorganized players who call themselves Shadow Hunters. They take the traits of the Shadow Hunter Hero Unit from WC3 and translate it to their characters. They commonly train to their racial strengths but some train solely to the strict regimen that is set by WC3. There've been some hints at the possibility that Blizzard might introduce race specific Classes, such as Troll Shadow Hunters and Orc Blademasters, but so far they haven't acknowlaged such a thing.[citation needed]
