Shadow Creek Ranch

Shadow Creek Ranch is a master planned community in Pearland, Texas, United States. Shadow Creek Ranch is along State Highway 288, which connects Brazoria County with Houston.

Shadow Creek Ranch is a bedroom community for commuters to Houston. The construction of State Highway 288 led to the development of Shadow Creek Ranch. The master planned community is exploding in population due to its proximity to Downtown Houston.

The Brazoria County portion of Shadow Creek Ranch is within the Alvin Independent School District. Students are zoned to Mary Burkes Marek Elementary School (Pearland), Manvel Junior High School (in the city of Manvel), and Manvel High School (Manvel).

Prior to fall 2004 Brazoria County SCR students were zoned to Don Jeter Elementary School in Rosharon in unincorporated Brazoria County. Prior to fall 2006 students were zoned to Alvin High School in the city of Alvin.

Portions of SCR within Fort Bend County are in the Fort Bend Independent School District. Zoned schools include Goodman Elementary School (Unincorporated Fort Bend County), Baines Middle School (Unincorporated Fort Bend County), and Hightower High School (Unincorporated Fort Bend County). Alvin ISD is allowing children living in the Fort Bend County portion to attend Marek Elementary until Fort Bend ISD builds additional schools [1].

The Fort Bend County portions of SCR include: Arbor Lakes, Autumn Brook, Azalea Creek, Blackberry Crossing, Brook Run, Cedarwood, Country Glen, Eden Cove, Edgewater, Holly Landing, Lake Meadows, Orchard Village, Pelican Shores, Piney Trails, Westhaven, Westwood Springs, and Windy Shores.

Additionally, Alvin Community College provides basic undergraduate courses and adult education; the AISD portion is in the ACC taxation zone.
