Shaddock can refer to either of two citrus fruits: the pomelo or the grapefruit. The name shaddock comes from Captain Shaddock, who introduced the pomelo to the West Indies in the 17th Century from the Malay Archipelago. The name was later extended to the grapefruit, which is a pomelo hybrid.
