Sha`b Abu Nuhas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sha`b Abū Nuħās (Arabic: شعب ابو نحاس) is a coral reef northwest of Shadwan Island in the northern Red Sea. It is a navigation hazard because it projects into the shipping channel, as evidenced by the (at least) 7 shipwrecks on it. It is popular with scuba divers. Its name is Arabic for "reef of father of copper", after the cargo of one of the wrecks.
