Shōnai, Ōita

This article is about the town in Ōita Prefecture, Japan. There are two other towns with the same name in Fukuoka Prefecture and Yamagata Prefecture: see Shonai, Fukuoka and Shonai, Yamagata.
Shōnai (庄内町 Shōnai-chō?) was a town located in Ōita District, Ōita, Japan. On October 1, 2005, Shōnai merged with the towns of Hasama and Yufuin, Ōita to form the city of Yufu.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 9,243 and the density of 65.88 persons per km². The total area was 140.29 km².
