This template automatically generates episode references for Stargate articles that are otherwise tedious to write out. It can also be used with <ref> tags to generate inline references. This works and is useful particularly for Stargate episodes due to the uniformity of the series and episode naming: all series names begin "Stargate ___", and all episode articles are at "Title (Stargate ___)".

This template employs intricate features of template syntax. Please do not alter it unless you understand its setup and parser functions and are ready to repair or revert all collateral damage if results are unexpected. Any experiments should be conducted and all improvements tested in either the template sandbox or your user space before changing anything here.

Which Stargate show the episode is from, either SG-1, Atlantis or Infinity.

use show=___ to alter the output. Options are

• none (auto)
  Just displays as a title in "quotes"
• all
  Has everything: enclosing brackets, (Show-name: and "Title").
• show
  Displays Show: and "title".
• brackets
  Displays ("title in brackets").
• ref
  Displays the citation as a reference to be put in <ref> tags.
