She is a young and enthusiastic Political Science major in urban Texas. Her hobbies include political activism, reading, school, and being with her fiance.
She takes great pride in her heritage. She is a Chicana, from a long line of Chicanas. She plans to keep her Chicana roots alive by writing down recipes (as well as utilizing them), knowing the folklore, and learning and utilizing ethnobotany, particular to Texas.
She is currently enamored with the ideas of Christian Socialism and the Christian Left. Don't get into an argument with her, she argues facts first, and then argues your style back at you.
Note: Political activism, for SGarza, is nothing more than hearing a piece of news, making a judgement call, getting angry, and doing something about it.

SGarza's pet peeve is the use of hyphens in the term 'Mexican American'. She is also trying to emphasis that Mexican Americans are not all blue collar workers; that they do have great social mobility.
SGarza went to Mayde Creek and hates the fact that the most important part about it was the sports area that was equatable to trivia. So she put in info about the walk out and famous alumni.
