[edit] DeKoven and baroque revival
I snipped:
- Many people believe DeKoven was partially responsible for the Baroque revival.
It's plausible. I personally happen to be one of those people. But when I initially wrestled with the article, I had trouble finding anyone who said so, in so many words. So I settled for pointing out that "DeKoven's broadcasts coincided with what is sometimes referred to as the '1960s baroque revival,' a sharp rise in popular interest in the music," leaving readers to deside for themselves how much was causation and how much was correlation. Try to find someone who said DeKoven helped bring about that revival, and quote them. Dpbsmith (talk) 14:24, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
Pot/kettle department: Mea culpa. Reviewing the article I see that I've been guilty of much the same thing myself. I need to cite the New York Times obit that was the source for much of this. I think that article supports the assertion that "Some listeners found his quirky mannerisms annoying, but many found his enthusiasm infectious" but I need to nail it down. This particular listener happened to fall into both categories... Dpbsmith (talk) 14:28, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
