Seycove is well known for the school's ski and snowboard team, which has won the district championship for two consecutive years. The school's rugby team is not as well known, but the senior boys rugby team did win the Tier Two "New Zealand Shield" in the 2006 season. The senior boys soccer team won provincials on November 22nd, 2006. The gymnastics team is also well-recognized.
[edit] Arts
Seycove has a highly commendable music program. Mostly its choirs have gained a strong reputation throughout the years. Aside from the typical concert and jazz choirs, Seycove also has an internationally acclaimed chamber choir and an all-women's choir. The school also displays a musical production outside of its regular music program every 2 years involving several random broadway musical selections.
Seycove's Chamber Choir is an elite auditioned student choral group; they have received numerous accolades in the past, and received the honour of winning "Best Youth Choir of the World" in the international Kathaumixw festival in Powell River, in July of 2006. In May 2007, the chamber choir will be travelling to New York to perform at Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphony.
Seycove Secondary is also very strong in the areas of theatre and visual arts. The drama classes engage in the One Act Play Festival every two years. The school offers scriptwriting and directing, acting, and theatre productions as senior classes. Some visual arts courses offered are Art Foundations, Art Portfolio, Media Arts (Photography), Film and Television, and Desktop Publishing.
