[edit] Message from creator

This is Clay, the artist of the comic this entry is based on. I had to make an edit, a picture of me from my livejournal was pasted on here, and that's just an image I'm not putting in the private domain. My opinion on this is that anyone looking for information on the comic would perhaps like to see more about the comic itself. It's the comic that this article is about, not the artist. --clay 13:36, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

Oh, and silly me thought it was *you* who posted it :) So, I'm done with my other articles, time to fix up sexy loosers :D Project2501a 14:19, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
Not me, I am nowhere near that vain. Plus, I know it's Wikipedia policy on webcomics that the artist should not contribute to the article on his own work, which I agree with entirely. BTW, I am incredibly flattered that someone thought to do an entry on my webcomic, even though I am not terribly sure who would use it ;;; clay 23:08, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps as a warning\temptation? Everyone loves free advertising ;) Bad Wolf
Not me, bandwidth ain't cheap! clay 07:46, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
This is true. Damn Internet and its capitalist...ah, can't be arsed. Bad Wolf

This is Clay again. Please do not use my last name, as it does not appear anywhere on the sexy losers site itself. I have asked a friend to remove it for me.--clay 01:01, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

So because of that it can't be there? --FlareNUKE 10:10, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
In my opinion the full name doesn't have any relevance in the article. The author is publicly known as just "Clay". Teklund 12:10, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I understand that the comic's name change was done for personal reasons but I was hoping this article had more info on why it left the Stile network which was at roughly the same time as the name change. 12:53, 24 April 2006 (CDT)

I can answer that, it was due to an unresolvable disagreement on how the SL site should be run. There is no connection between this and the name change (the name change was the result of trying to protect my personal life after being viciously harassed by an ex-girlfriend -- long story). Neither of these events are documented on the web as they mainly happened through personal communication and IRL harassment, and hence are unverifiable and shouldn't be put into an article about it (the rule of No Original Research).clay 08:32, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
So SL was part of the Stile Network? I guess that's worth a mention in the article, isn't it? Stile Project is quite a big and somewhat influential site after all. Promonex 07:46, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm not the best person to judge on that, but I believe it's merely trivial -- Sexy Losers was also hosted on Keenspace for a much longer time than on Stile, and this isn't mentioned either, along with the 5 or 6 other hosts which have eventually kicked me off throughout the years.clay 23:56, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

What about the fact that it's improper to write an article using someone's first name? --FlareNUKE 13:14, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Sez who? —Tamfang 15:18, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Where is this "fact"? Such a statement requires a citation.

[edit] Video on Trial

Video on Trial's verdict about Paris Hilton is NOT actual; therefore please DON'T put a picture of her. --Addict 2006 07:18, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't see any mention of Paris Hilton in this article... Do you mind explaining? --GargoyleMT 16:04, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
See Video on Trial: PH was "sentenced" to have her picture added to Loser. I guess someone reckoned that Sexy Losers is the most appropriate of the choices on that disambiguation page. —Tamfang 22:56, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Links don't work

Hey, the hyperlink for the first use of "fap" doesn't work. Can someone please fix that? --ForestAngel 01:41, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Site Down?

There's nothing. The index.html file is empty. I just did a search around for his blog but I forgot what it was!

oops found it on this page duh! But still nothing :( 74.121.68.137 21:12, 29 November 2006 (UTC)piepants

[edit] I think it's dead, Jim

I remember Clay announcing that he was giving up on Sexy Losers. I think it's more or less dead.--Vercalos 20:47, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

The site was recently moved to a new server, and I'm having problems getting the site to work on it. It should be back up and running within a week or so. clay 23:50, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Huh.. I thought you were giving it up as being nothing more than a hobby you no longer had time for..--Vercalos 00:53, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Although I have stated I have no time to make new strips, that has nothing to do with me keeping the site up and running, which I intend to do for quite some time. You're not the first person to assume that I have abandoned the work -- I just don't have time to continue drawing new comics, I'm not about to throw away the hundreds of hours spend drawing comics. clay 13:06, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for jumping to conclusions 'cause the site was gone.--Vercalos 18:46, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Eh, no need for apologies, thanks for checking up on the site even though I never update. clay 05:32, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
There's always the hope that you might start it up again.--Vercalos 05:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

It is now back up and running. clay 08:39, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Marked for Deletion?

I see the article's marked for deletion, but there's no apparent discussion of it here. Is there any particular reason for it to be marked? There's plenty of similar articles on culturally significant (and many obscure) works of art, including webcomics, games, TV shows, radio, and many newer forms of media. I can't think of anything that merits deletion. Sarysa 20:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

The discussion isn't normally held on the talk page, but on the AfD page. The AfD template has a link. The primary concern seems to be whether or not the article passes WP:N. --GargoyleMT 16:52, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I think that the dispute primarily centers of the related issue of WP:V, although these are intrinsically linked. The dispute is here at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sexy Losers. Shaundakulbara 01:30, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fap

Are there any references to substantiate that it was Sexy Losers who made the onomatopoeia "Fap" popular online? Epameinondas 02:15, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
