Sex and Shopping is a major documentary series about the sex that you can go shopping for, and looks at all aspects of the international sex industry and at contemporary attitudes towards commercial sex and censorship. Each episode explores finance and lifestyles in the legal international commercial sex industry. It was produced for Channel 4 and aired in 2005 in the UK.

The Future is Vivid This one-hour special introductory programme visits Van Nuys, California to go behind the scenes at Vivid Video, the MGM of hard core pornography and home of the hottest property in the business, the Vivid Girls. We see a sex scene with new star Raylene being filmed and find out how Vivid leads Disney and Warner Brothers in technology and distribution.
So This is Porno Hell This programme visits North Hollywood and Cream Entertainment where English producer John T Bone is filming established star Houston in an anal sex scene set in porno hell. Also on set is Kendra Jade, famous to readers of the British and American tabloids as the hard core star who stung Jerry Springer (and now claims to be pregnant by him).
And The Walls Came Tumbling Down This programme examines the impact cyberspace has upon pornography and UK regulations. Agony Aunts Anne Atkins and Karen Krizanovich and Sex Therapist Phillip Hodson surf the Net to see for themselves.
The Queen Mother of Porn We travel to Germany to visit Beate Uhse, the 'Queen Mother' of porn who runs the biggest chain of sex shops in the world. Later this year Beate Uhse will float her company on the German Stock Exchange acknowledging the legitimacy of the sex business in Germany. Her achievements have been rewarded in Germany, including a nomination for the Order of Merit in the German Parliament. This is a far cry from the recognition awarded to entrepreneurs in the upper echelons of the sex industry hierarchy in Britain.
Good Woodsmen This programme asks the male stars of the sex industry what it really is like to have sex with hundreds of women. Are they treated fairly? Do their female colleagues have the upper hand? What do their friends and families think? Do the female stars respect them? What is it like to have sex before the cameras and can they still keep 'the wood' up?

Adult Magazines This programme explores the phenomenon of top shelf adult magazines. We follow glamour model Linsey Dawn McKenzie on a photo shoot and meet the people who work behind the scenes in this highly lucrative section of the sex industry.
A Very German Girl This programme focuses on German pornography and draws comparisons between the German and the British attitudes towards sex. We visit MMV and meet Kelly Trump, their exclusive new star. Kelly is not only a Porn star but a 'very German girl' commanding the respect and admiration that her British counterparts can only dream of.
Some Like it Hotter We journey to 'All-Worlds' in San Diego, the home of gay pornography. We talk to gay porn stars and producers of gay pornography and examine the taboos. We ask whether the male body is more heavily censored. If so, why? If pornography is geared to titillate men rather than women, then why is the gay market excluded in this way?
It Could Be You We look at the most popular genre of pornography this decade: the amateur film. We follow the making of such a film and discover that it is in fact a very professional production. This programme contrasts this with the real British amateur Rona Meecham and asks whether authorities have too much control over private lives in Britain.
The Things Some Girls Do We explore the issue of lesbianism and pornography. Traditionally pornography has been regarded as a male preserve, yet there are hundreds of videos featuring only girls in highly explicit situations. Is it a British phenomenon as lesbian pornography can slip through the censor's net? Who is it for? Is it intended for the lesbian market? If so does it knock the theory that women are not turned on by porn on its head? Or is it solely produced for the gratification of men?
