Seventeen (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Seventeen" is a popular song, written by Boyd Bennett in 1955 (see 1955 in music).
Three versions of the song charted in 1955 in the United States. The original version, recorded by Bennett, reached #5 on the Billboard chart. The Fontane Sisters made a cover version, which did even better, reaching #3. And Rusty Draper's version charted at #18.
In the United Kingdom, Frankie Vaughan recorded the song.
"Seventeen" is also the title of an unrelated song by the band Winger. It was released in 1989 and reached #26 in the charts (see 1989 in music).
"Seventeen" is also the title of another song by the band Ladytron. It reached #68 in the UK charts (see 2002 in music) and was used in the 2003 film Party Monster.
"Seventeen" should not be confused with "At Seventeen," by singer-songwriter Janis Ian in the 1970s.
