A Sergeant in Sweden is a squad (team) leader rank (a team in Sweden consists of 6-8 men) and is usually awarede after 12 months of training and servcie.

Sergeant First Class is a deputy plattoon leader rank with 15 years of experience. And since the holder is a Staff NCO the offcer also has an associate degree.

Since a Swedish Sergeant is a team leder, we have to find a corresponding teamleader rank in the US and that is usually a Sergeant.
