Serpent Mound crater

Serpent Mound crater is a meteor crater in Ohio, United States. It is mostly in Adams County, with the northern part mostly in Highland County, and the small northeast part in Pike County.

It is 8 km in diameter and the age is estimated to be less than 320 million years (Mississippian). The crater is exposed to the surface.

The Serpent Mound, an effigy mound, is located on a plateau in Brush Creek Valley in Adams County, is located inside the crater. It is 1,330 feet long and three feet high, the largest effigy earthwork in the world.
