[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

A fundamentalist Christian evangelical assassinates a leading Muslim cleric as he leaves the High Court, having been acquitted of terrorism charges through a legal loophole. The assassin then fatally shoots himself.

A Christian group claim responsibility for this, as well as several other attacks on the Muslim community. As threats of further attacks emerge, Adam goes undercover to find out when and where the attacks will take place. It turns out that the leader of a Christian homeless shelter, Steve Paynton (Shaun Dingwall), has been pre-conditioning homeless people to a radical form of Christianity that advocates the death of Muslims.

However, by now, the group, Sons of Phineas, have attracted the attention of Mossad, who believe they have an anti-Semitic agenda as well as an anti-Muslim one. As Adam discovers the details of the next attack, a mosque in Birmingham, Mossad hit men storm the homeless shelter, killing Paynton. They continue to search the building for Adam, in his 'Christian extremist' guise. By now, news comes through that Adam's son, Wes, has gone missing, although it is confirmed he has run away rather than been kidnapped. Adam has a post traumatic stress attack, paralysing him with fear.

Just as it looks as if it's too late, Adam regains control, and with help from Ros, disables all but one of the gunmen in the building. As he moves to exit, this gunman points his weapon at Adam, but then appears to get a message through his earpiece, and subsequently lowers his weapon and moves away.

Spoilers end here.
