Serie B 2006-07 teams distribution

The 2006-07 Serie B season started on September 9, 2006 and will end on June 10, 2007. The 22 clubs in Serie B each play 42 matches during the season. Serie B matches are usually played on Saturday, except for the one game played on Friday called anticipo (the advanced game) and one game played on Monday called posticipo (the post-dated game). The league also plays on several Wednesdays to fit in all 42 games. The league plays on Sunday if Serie A is off.

The 2006-07 season marks the first Serie B appearance for two clubs, Frosinone and 27-time Italian champions Juventus.

For the 2006/07 season, A.C. Arezzo, and Juventus F.C., will be deducted 6, and 9 points, respectively, due to their involvement in the 2006 Italian Match Fixing Scandal. In addition, U.S. Triestina Calcio will be deducted 1 point because of financial irregularities, and Pescara Calcio takes a 1 point penalty for late tax payments.
