Sergio Villalobos Rivera

Sergio Villalobos Rivera (Born in 1930) Chilean Historian, one of the most important in the contemporary Chilean Historiography. National Reward of History 1992.

He is influenced by the new history, and take new perspective of the history of Chile, using the “Long Duration” (Fernand Braudel influences) to decipher all their content. He had many conflicts by their postures, for example with the mapuche people.

His biggest work is the Historia del pueblo chileno (History of the Chilean people).
