Sergei Abramov

Sergei Abramov (born February 29, 1972) is a Moscow-based politician and former Minister of Finance, acting President and Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic.
Abramov had led a Chechen delegation to Russia on a "Friendship Train" to promote cultural and economic ties and varied cooperation between Chechnya and Russian provinces, and in 2004 announced that there will be built Disneyland in Chechnya by 2005.
Abramov served as finance minister of Chechnya from 2002 to 2003. Early in 2004 he became prime minister, and became acting President in May 2004 when President Akhmed Kadyrov was killed in a bomb attack. He remained acting president for 5 months, until after new presidential elections. On November 18, 2005 Abramov was seriously injured in a car accident in Moscow which prompted the government to appoint Ramzan Kadyrov as acting Prime Minister. Previously, he survived a bomb attack on his convoy. On March 2006, he retired from politics in Chechnya due to his injuries.
