Serge Lemoyne was a Canadian artist from Quebec, born in 1941 and died in 1998. He is known both as a performance artist and also primarily as a painter. Among his many exhibits are an hommage to Matisse and the "bleu, blanc, rouge". The former of these is a tribute to the Montreal Canadiens hockey team and also the three representative colours found in the flag of France[1]. One of Mr Lemoyne's best known pieces of work is "Dryden[2]", an understatedly simplistic portrait of a gardien's (goaltender's) mask, particularly that of Montreal Canadiens star goaltender Ken Dryden.
