Serbian vehicle registration plates
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Serbian car license plate codes consist of a two-letter region code, followed by two 2- or 3-digit numbers, separated by hyphen (e.g. BG 123-456). The region code and the numbers are separated by flag of Serbia and Montenegro.
New format of the license plates was announced in July 2006, and is expected to be gradually applied from January 2007. [1] The dimensions will be 520x120 mm, the code format will be two-letter region code, followed by a 3-digit numeric and a 2-letter alpha code (e.g. BG 123 AA). A blue field will be placed along the left place edge, as in European Union countries, and the font used (FE-Schrift) will be the same as for German license plates. Small coat of arms of Serbia separates the region code and the numeral code.
These are the current Serbian car license plate codes by region and in alphabetical order[2]:

The old plates are still valid on the rest of the territory of Serbia, and used on cars belonging to Serbian refugees from Kosovo[3] (but new codes are not issued anymore[verification needed]).
