Sequent (MUD)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sequent is a 1st generation DikuMUD multi-user domain (MUD) engine, derived from the original DikuMUD. Sequent was developed in the early 1990s on a sequent multiprocessor machine (sequent.berkeley.edu), based on the freely distributed source code of DikiMUD. It was used as the basis for many later MUDs, notably "Copper MUD".

Sequent DikuMUD was created by Raja Kushalnagar ("Duke of Sequent") at the University of California, Berkeley and first released in 1991. Within months other mudders picked up the codebase and began to modify it for their own MUDs, especially Copper.
