Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh announces free power for farmers. This will cost the state Rs. 439 crore (approximately 100 million US dollars) and the state's farm subsidy bill will increase to 15.39 billion Indian rupees. (350 million US dollars approx.) (The Tribune) (Business Standard)
