Seoige and O'Shea is an Irish television chat show. The show, hosted by Grainne Seoige and Joe O'Shea, is broadcast live on weekdays at 4:25pm on RTÉ One. Episodes are repeated at 8:20am the following weekday on the same channel. The first series began on 16 October 2006 and will run until May 2007.

Although Seoige and O'Shea claim that the programme has proved successful, television ratings have regularly shown that it has failed to enter the top 20.[1] Critics believe that the show's time slot and boring/recycled topics are responsible for its low viewing figures. Therefore, it is doubtful that Seoige and O'Shea will be returning for a second series.

The show follows a simple format. There are usually interviews, debates on topical issues and musical performances. Viewers can call the programme's studio to give their opinions on topics (although opinions are rarely mentioned). Seoige and O'Shea chat with four sets of guests, which consist of interviewees, discussion groups and musical artists. The guests each have a time limit of 10 minutes for their own segment of the show.

Critics claim that both Seoige and O'Shea have poor chatting skills. Since Seoige was previously a news presenter on TG4 and Sky News, her interviewing style isn't suitable for chat shows. O'Shea, who was formerly a journalist, has had no previous interviewing experience [2] and is shown to repeatedly make mistakes when he is talking.[3]

The duo are often the brunt of satirical radio characters M and 50 (98FM Toll Trolls) on the popular Morning Crew radio breakfast show on 98FM.

The chat show's principal rival is Dustin's Daily News.
