Sentinel Prime

Sentinel Prime is a character in the Transformers Universe.

Sentinel Prime was the immediate predecessor of Optimus Prime, killed in battle by Megatron on Cybertron. He passed the Autobot Matrix of Leadership on to his successor: Optimus Prime.
His name is taken from issue #65 of the original Marvel comic book in which all the past Matrix holders are listed and he precedes Optimus Prime.

Sentinel Prime died during the civil war on Cybertron, supposedly killed by Megatron in single combat. In this version at the time of his death, Sentinel Prime was not in possession of the Matrix. (Ref: War Within Vol. 1, Issue 1).
Nothing else is known about this Autobot Leader.
