Sense and Sensibilia (Austin)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sense and Sensibilia is a landmark 1950's work of ordinary language philosophy by J. L. Austin, Oxford Professor of Philosophy. Austin attacks sense data theories of perception, specifically those of A. J. Ayer and G. J. Warnock. The title is of course a pun on Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility.
